A privilege reserved for Hennessy guests, you will start your visit by embarking on a solar-powered boat for a brief crossing of the Charente River, which played an essential part in the development of the town. Relive history and take in the picturesque scenery of Cognac's historic district, following the age-old route that brought Hennessy to the world.

Expert guide in a historical Hennessy cellar, talking about the art of blending

Your visit starts in the Faïencerie cellar. There, in the half-light, alignments of hundreds of barrels speak to a mystique that goes back centuries. The wood of the barrels is always hand-calligraphed with chalk to indicate the year of harvest and provenance of the eaux-de-vie. You will delve into the complex art of blending, the natural phenomenon known as the "angels' share", and the essential role oak casks play in ageing eaux-de-vie.

Next, you'll get a rare opportunity to visit the prestigious "Paradis" cellar — a repository for some of Maison Hennessy's oldest eaux-de-vie, usually inaccessible to visitors.

Since 2023, our guided tours also include a mesmerizing virtual reality experience: MOBILIS, a 19-mn odyssey where heritage and craftsmanship merge seamlessly with cutting-edge technology and poetry. Inspired by sketches doodled by founder Richard Hennessy back in 1765, the brilliant French artists Olivier Kuntzel & Florence Deygas have woven a one-of-a-kind voyage that unveils the history and the DNA of Maison Hennessy.

The creation of this harmonious blend of visuals, sounds, and sensations required 2 years of work and the talent of 50 creative contributors including the engineers at Studio Backlight, one of the most awarded VR studios in the world.

MOBILIS was voted 'Best Innovation' at the 2024 Wine Tourism Awards, at the 2025 Best of Wine awards in Bordeaux, and by the Iter Vitis European Network of Wine Museums.

To conclude your experience, discover the 11am daily ritual of our Tasting Committee - an organization for excellence that is unique to Hennessy, and sets us apart from all other cognacs - and enjoy a guided tasting of our iconic Hennessy X.O cognac served neat, on the rocks and in a cocktail, accompanied by two gourmet macarons. A fantastic way to appreciate the intensity, warm spicy notes and aromatic complexity of this powerful blend.

This visit is fully accessible to visitors with special access needs. A "Mobility Inclusion" reduced ticket rate is available for them and a guest, bookable online or by email directly with our team.

For health and safety reasons, the use of virtual reality headsets is reserved to visitors aged 12 and above. Please note that exposure to virtual reality can disrupt the sensory system and may lead to various mild symptoms (such as nausea or vertigo) that wear off quickly. The use of these technologies is not recommended for people who suffer from epileptic seizures or sensitive people (eg pregnant women or people prone to panic attacks).

Minors aged 12-17 will not be allowed to take part in the virtual reality immersive experience without an accompanying adult. Alternative activities are available for visitors not participating in the virtual reality experience.
